Chopra (born in 1932) is an Indian producer and director and founder of Yash Raj Films, one of the biggest Indian film production companies. He worked as assistant director to I. S. Johar and later in the second half of 1950s on his brother B. R. Chopra’s films. He made his directing debut with the film Dhool Ka Phool (1959). The first film he made within his production house was Daag (1973). His other important films are Waqt (1965), Deewar (1975) and Kabhi Kabhie - Love Is Life (1976) with the legendary Amitabh Bachchan, romantic musical Chandni (1989), Lamhe (1991), which is regarded as his best film by many critics, Darr (1993), Dil To Pagal Hai (1997) and the last film he directed Veer-Zaara (2004).

Synopsis:

Vijay and Ravi are two brothers living with their mother and barely surviving. Their father left them a long time ago when his company cheated and disgraced him. Now Vijay has to start working in order to feed his family. First he starts by cleaning shoes, then works as a harbor worker and then gets involved in smuggling. Ravi manages to get a job in the police but his first assignment is to catch his brother.
