Director and screenwriter. In 1980, while studying film at the Seoul Institute of the Arts, Kim decided to continue his studies at the film academy in Japan. Since 1986, he has been directing commercials for radio and television in Japan, Australia and Hong Kong. He returned to Korea in the late 1990’s, and his first film set experience was as assistant director on
Kazoku shinema (1998) directed by Cheol-sua Park. He founded the Filmline production company, specializing in feature films, commercials and TV production. He directed short films
Woa Nam-nyeo (2001) and
32nd DEC: Where is Mr. President? (2002). He directed his first long feature film
Ane-eui aein-eul mannada (Driving with My Wife\'s Lover) in 2006. Three years later, he directed the Japanese-Korean production
Dokyo taekshi (Tokyo Taxi, 2009). Together with Cheol-suom Park he co-directed the drama
Bul-eun ba-kang-seu geom-eun we-ding (Red Vacance Black Wedding, 2011).
