Jorge Durán

Santiago, Chile

Durán (1942), a screenwriter, director and producer, has been living in Brazil since 1977. He worked as an assistant director on several films from the early 1970s to the mid 1980s and made his directing debut in 1978 with O escolhido de Iemanjá. He also made The Color of Destiny (A Cor do seu destino, 1986) and Forbidden to Forbid (Proibido Proibir, 2007).

Synopsis:

Leon, a student of sociology, has a relationship with Leticia, a student of architecture, who is secretly in love with Leon’s best friend and roommate Paulo, a medical student working in the university hospital. There Paulo meets the terminally ill Rosalina. While trying to find Rosalina’s two sons, Paulo discovers the violent side of his city and endangers lives.
