Christophe Gans
11.03.1960, Antibes, France
As a teenager, Christophe Gans made his
first fanzine Rhesus Zero, in which he showed his inclination towards
Kung – fu and sci-fi film. He is one of the directors of the horror film
Necronomicon (1994), based on stories by the famous writer H.P. Lovecraft.
In 1995, Gans made his first feature film - the adaptation of Koike and
Ikegamia’s famous manga - Crying Freeman starring Marc Dacascos.
This film was a huge surprise and achieved a cult status. His next film,
Vučje bratstvo (2001), is a logical continuation of his work, and an outcome
of his endeavors to bring together the traditional Japanese school and the
contemporary European way of thinking.
