Carlos Imperio Hamburger, better known as Cao Hamburger, is a Brazilian film and television director. He was born in Săo Paulo, Brasil, in 1962. He is the author of one of Brazil’s most popular children’s TV series of all time:
Castelo Rá-Tim-Bum (1995). In 1999, he made a feature film for children based on the TV series. He directed one of the episodes of the TV series
Cidade dos homens (2002 - 2005), based on the film
Cidade de Deus (2002). After working on the TV series
Filhos do Carnaval (2006) he directed the film
O Ano em que Meus Pais Saíram de Férias (2006), which is partly based on his childhood memories.
He directed his next film, adventure drama Xingu, three years later while still directing television series.
