Synopsis:
During the Spanish civil war, April 26 1937, German air forces bombed the Basque town of Guernica. The destruction of the city and the death of innocent people resounded throughout Europe, becoming a symbol of suffering and an inspiration for artists to express their reactions to the event. Through Guernica and other works by Pablo Picasso and Paul Eluard's poem, the film tries to analyse the attack and its consequences.
