During his studies of screenwriting at the Prague Film Academy, he made several short films. For his first feature film, Big Beat (Sakali leta, 1993), he won several awards. After that he made different TV projects, such as the children’s series Where Stars Fall (Kde padají hvezdy, 1996), and from 1999, he started making feature films again: Cosy Dens (Pelíšky, 1999), Divided We Fall (Musíme si pomáhat, 2000), Pupendo (2003) and Loop the Loop (Horem pádem, 2004).
