Jan Cvitkovič

Cvitkovič is a director, screenwriter and actor. He gave up studying physics and spent some time ztravleling around Israel, Egypt and East Africa. In 1999, upon returning home he graduated in archeology and in that same year starred in and co-wrote the screenplay for the film V leru directed by Janez Burger. Two years later he wrote the screenplay for and made his directing debut with the film Bread and Milk (Kruh in mleko, 2001), which won the Luigi De Laurentiis award at the Venice Film Festival in 2001. After the short feature The Heart Is a Piece of Meat (Srce je kos mesa, 2003), he directed the comedy Gravehopping (Odgrobadogroba, 2005) that also won several awards on festivals around the world. Afterwards he directed several short films and then the drama Archeo (Arheo, 2011). He took part in the international omnibus Venice 70: Future Reloaded (2013). Currently his last film is the comedy Šiška Deluxe (2015).
