Joachim Trier

Trier grew up in a film family in Norway. After graduating from the European Film College in Denmark, he continued his education at the British National Film and Television School, during which he directed several award-winning short feature films. His debut film Reprise (2006) won several international film awards, including the one for best director at the festival in Karlovy Vary and at Discovery Award in Toronto. His second film Oslo, August 31 had its premiere in Cannes within the section Un Certain Regard, and afterwards it was shown at festivals in Toronto and Sundance. It won several awards and was nominated for the Cesar award as Best Foreign Film.
