Sam Karmann

Karmann is a French actor, director and screenwriter. He began his career as a theatre actor and continued to act in TV series and films. In 1992, he made his first short film Omnibus that won the Golden Palm in Cannes and Oscar in the category Best Short Feature Film. His first feature film from 1999 is Kennedy et moi but it was not equally successful. Afterwards he made Nickel and Dime (Ŕ la petite semaine, 2003), True Enough (La vérité ou presque, 2007) and the short films Issues de secours (2006) and Chant prénatal (2006).

Synopsis:

Jacques is a fifty year old man getting out of prison after serving a five year sentence. He visits his friends Francis and Didier in the working class part of Montmarte. Francis still lives with her mother and is interested in acting and Didier is a small time crook with a passion for gambling even though his wife is expecting a baby. Marcel, his former gangster boss is offering a new job to Jacques but he does not want to continue living as a criminal.
