Keisuke Yoshida

Director

Yoshida is a Japanese director and screenwriter. He gained his first experiences on film as assistant director to Shin'ya Tsukamoto on his three films made between 2002 and 2006. He made his directing debut with the medium-length comedy Raw Summer (Nama-natsu, 2005) for which he also wrote the screenplay. His next feature-length comedy The Contents of the Desk (Tsukue no nakami, 2007) was less successful, but his third film Cafe Isobe (Jun kissa Isobe, 2008) was slightly more popular. Afterwards he directed the drama Triangle (Sankaku, 2010), comedy Bashauma san to biggu mausu (2013) and My Little Sweet Pea (Mugiko san to, 2013). His best film to date is Silver Spoon (2014). Currently, his last film is the thriller Himeanôru (2016).

Synopsis:

There is an agricultural school on the island Hokkaido that is mostly attended by children from rural areas who want to continue their family business. Yugo is a boy who did not manage to enroll to a school of his choice and is now attending and living at the agricultural school, so he would not have to stay with his family. Since he grew up in the city he has no intention of working in agriculture and needs time to adapt to the new environment. The story gets complicated when he starts to envy...
