Krauze is a Polish director and screenwriter. He graduated from the film school in Lodź in 1978. He began his film career with documentaries and short films such as
Deklinacja (Declination, 1979),
Robactwo (Vermin, 1983),
Jest (It is). He made his first feature film in 1987,
Nowy Jork, czwrta rano (New York, 4 am) that brought him the award for Best debut at the Polish film festival in 1988. he also made
Gry uliczne (Street Games, 1996),
Dług (The Debt, 1999), short TV film
Wielkie rzeczy: Gra (2000) and
Mój Nikifor (My Nikifor, 2004) that won the Golden Globe and the award for Best Director at the international film festival in Karlovy Vary in 2005.
