She is an Irish animator, director and producer. She studied animation at a college in Dublin, and in 1998 she established the animation studio Cartoon Studio together with Tomm Moore and Paul Young. She made her debut with the animated film From Darkness (2002), and afterwards worked on the successful animated series Skunk Fu!. With Tomm Moore she directed the successful animated film Secret of Kells (2009). She was the creative producer of the animated TV series Puffin Rock (2015) while Moore wrote the screenplay for it. She is currently working on the post-production of the animated film The Breadwinner (2017) which she also directed.
