Paolo Genovese

Genovese graduated in economy and began his career as a director of commercials that won awards at many domestic and international festivals. In 2001, together with Luca Miniero, he co-wrote and co-directed A Neapolitan Spell, which won the David di Donatello and two Golden Globes. Once more, together with Miniero, in 2003, he wrote and directed the film Nessun messaggio in segreteria. Since 2010, Genovese has directed several successful comedies and won one Golden and two Silver Tickets: La Banda dei Babbi Natale, Immaturi e Immaturi - Il viaggio. In 2012, he directed Una Famiglia perfetta starring Sergio Castellitto, Claudia Gerini, which won the Golden CIAK as best comedy and many other awards at international festivals. It was also nominated for David di Donatello, Nastri d'argento as well as Globi d'oro. In 2001, he wrote and directed Tutta colpa di Freud, which was equally successful among the critics as well as audience. Francesco De Gregori won the Nastro d'argento award for best song that was featured in Genovese’s film Ever Been to the Moon? (Sei mai stata sulla luna?).
