Synopsis:
The film is based on the American Gwen Terasaki’s autobiography and tells the story of her marriage to the Japanese diplomat from Washington, Hidenari Terasaki. They met and fell in love before WW II. After the attack on Pearl Harbor they move to Japan and remain there until the end of war. Gwen, as a white American, has trouble living in the new country and culture.
