Pick (January 2, 1886) is a German actor, director and screenwriter. He took an interest in acting while still a child. He later studied acting and appeared in many films such as Und wandern sollst Du ruhelos (1915), Tales of Hoffman (Hoffmanns Erzählungen, 1916), The Picture of Dorian Gray (Das Bildnis des Dorian Gray, 1917), Der Feldherrnhügel (1926), Spies (Spione, 1928). He directed the films Master Over Life and Death (Der Herr über Leben und Tot, 1919), Der Dummkopf (1920), Shattered (Scherben, 1921), Sylvester (1924), The Armored Vault (Das Panzergewölbe, 1926), Napoleon at St. Helena (Napoleon auf St. Helena, 1929), and the two sound films Gassenhauer (1931), Les Quatre vagabonds (1931).

Synopsis:

This is a tragic story: a railway inspector is killed for seducing a railway worker’s daughter. This end is very unusual for the pro hierarchy German film production of that time.
