Solano is a Spanish director, producer and screenwriter. She studied at the department of picture and sound at the Faculty of Information Science in Madrid, which is part of the Complutense University. Furthermore, she studied at the film school TAI, as well as taking additional classes in photography and videography. For a few years, she worked as a member of production teams of several short and full-length feature films. In 1993, she joined the production team of the TV station Canal+, where she worked on documentaries and special programs. In 2000, she joined the production team Produce + and worked with the leading Spanish producers. Three years later she began her career as a director along with the production work within
Grupo Sogecable. She directed documentaries and some other programs. Some of her documentaries include:
Universo Hip Hop, Mil y Una Lolas (2005),
Presidentes de Película, La Fama y su Séquito (2006) and many others that she directed for Canal+. In 2007, she founded her own production house
TRANSIT Producciones S.L., and in 2014, won the
Goya award for best documentary with her film
Las maestras de la República (2013).
