Synopsis:
This is the film adaptation of the novel with the same title by Charlotte Brontë. The heroine Jane Eyre had a tough childhood as an orphan. Her cruel and selfish aunt put her in a boarding school for the poor where she was badly treated. Later, as a twenty-year-old woman, she accepts a job as a governess for the little girl Adele. She lives in an isolated castle whose owner, Edward Rochester, is mostly absent.
