His films usually deal with the themes of marginalized subcultures, especially homosexuality. Van Sant is considered one of the most prominent authors of the New Queer Cinema movement.

Synopsis:

Mike Waters is a young prostitute who suffers from narcolepsy, a sudden falling asleep.
