Waddington is a Brazilian director, producer and screenwriter. He became interested in film as a small boy and gained his first professional experience doing different jobs on film sets. In 1991 the film industry began to stagnate and he began making documentaries, commercial films and music videos. When the situation recovered in 1996, he became a partner in the production house Conspiracao Films and directed two films Gęmeas (1999) and Eu, tu, eles (2000), which was also popular with international audiences. Afterwards he made several documentaries about Brazilian musicians. His latest feature film is Casa de Areia (2005).

Synopsis:

Inspired by a true story, this film is about an independent woman who does not want to settle for less. Darlene and her son Dimas return to her village in north of Brazil and learns that her mother has passed away. After the funeral her mother’s neighbor Osias proposes to Darlene and she accepts. Soon she realizes that he only needed a maid, and finds herself flirting with Osias’s nephew Zezinho. However, true passion is nowhere to be found…
