Zambrano is a Spanish director and screenwriter. He studied screenwriting and directing at the International Film and Television School in San Juan de los Bańos on Cuba. From 1990 to 1994 he made several short films, and his first feature film
Solas (1999) attracted attention of audiences and critics alike. It also won several awards at international festivals such as the
Goya for Best Screenplay and Best Young Director. In 2002, he directed the mini TV series
Padre Coraje. Three years later, he directed his second feature film
Habana Blues (2005).
