                          Synopsis:
The year is 2002, the setting desert area of Almeria, Spain. Texas
Hollywood is a dusty town in the west in which for decades not a single film
has been screened. Here lives Julian, film veteran. Here are also Cheyene –
timid gunman, Manuel – thoughtless stand-in, Arrastrao – a rider with not much
luck, the Hanging man – who says he was once hung, himself,
Enterrador – Italian, Don Mariano – owner of the town... and the usual
complement of Gypsy-Indians. All of them survive playing out pathetic action
scenes for the tourists who come to visit the once famous town where
spaghetti westerns were made. The situations for all those poor actors will
soon dramatically change. There appears a boy Carlos, who says he ran away from
home and claims to be Julien’s grandson. His mother, Laura, searches for him and
is determined once and for all to face the sprits of her past… With this film Alex de la Iglesia was nominated in several catogories for the
most important film award in Spain - Goya.
