Álex de la Iglesia

Alex de la Iglesia is the Spanish director of the younger generation who soon became famous for his characteristic style in Spain as well as the world. He graduated in philosophy on the Deusto University. He is a big fan of comic books and he himself drew and published comics in magazines and newspapers. In 1991 he shot the short film Mirindas asesinas. He attracted attention with his films Acción mutante in 1993 and godine te El día de la bestia in 1995. In 1997 he made his hit film Perdita Durango, starring Rozie Perez. He made the comedy Muertos de risa in 1999, and the next year his famous film La Comunidad. In 2002 he made 800 balas and again received many praises. His latest film is Ferpect Crime (Crimen Ferpecto, 2004).
