Synopsis:

This is a historical drama about a family that produces tofu. Young Eikichi mastered the art of making tofu in Kyo and arrives to Edo. There he opens a shop and marries a good-natured local girl Ofumi. In time their family grows bigger and his business more successful. Nevertheless, his oldest son seems disinterested in continuing the family business. When he develops a gambling problem, everything that Eikichi and Ofumi created is suddenly in grave danger. The solution to this situation seems to be uncertain.
