Two friends and musicians, Ruy and Tito try to make it in the music world with a specific musical style that combines traditional Cuban with modern music and speaks about typical Cuban themes. They get their chance when a Spanish music label gives them an ultimatum: they have to adjust their lyrics to the international market. Ruy thinks that would be treason against their country, art and their integrity, while Tito is more aware of their financial problems.
