Synopsis:
This film is a touching drama based on real events. The main character is a kind and unusual doctor. He is a visionary and a professional clown, writer and the director of the famous Gesundheit Institute in North Carolina that provides free health care services. Patch Adams is an unconventional student of medicine whose unconventional approach drives the doctors crazy. On the other hand he is appalled by the coldness and distance of the doctors in their relations to the patients. After he feels what it is like to be a patient himself, he starts to believe that humor and good will can bring more good to the patients than pure pills and rigid doctors…
