Synopsis:
Sometime in the 19th century, a ship tries to pass through the frozen sea near the North Pole. Mary Shelley is on board and, while trying to write with her frozen ink, she reminisces about the conditions that brought her to the end of the world in search of her Creature. She of thinks how she met the young and passionate poet, Percy B. Shelley. She remembers how they fell in love, running away together and meeting Lord Byron in Switzerland. She thinks of the night when they all sat by a fire in Switzerland telling scary stories, which led to her dreaming up the unforgettable creature, Frankenstein’s Monster. In 1988, this film won the Golden Shell at the San Sebastian film festival for Best Director, as well as the Goya award in the categories of Best Director, Photography and Artistic Impression.
