Synopsis:
The film, which takes place from the beginning of the Twentieth Century to the end of World War I, follows the life of Jean Barnery, a young Protestant preacher and the heir to a porcelain factory. Discovering his wife’s infidelity, he decides to divorce her, which gives rise to gossip in their community.
