Omar El Zohairy

Studied film directing at the High Institute of Cinema in Cairo. His short film The Aftermath of the Inauguration of the Public Toilet at Kilometre 375 (2014) was the first Egyptian film to be selected for the Cannes Cinéfondation Competition. Feathers is his feature debut. It premiered at Cannes International Critic’s Week, winning Grand Prix and FIPRESCI Prize.

Synopsis:

An absurdist, black-humour story about a woman, a hen and subverting the Egyptian patriarchy. It is Mando’s sixth birthday party and it includes a magic act.
