Nikolaus Geyrhalter was born in 1972 in Vienna. He works on documentary film. In 1994 he started his own film production house, Nikolaus Geyrhalter Filmproduktion. His documentaries have won many international awards. In most of his films he produced and wrote the screenplay on his own.

Synopsis:

The town of Pripyat is situated five kilometres from the nuclear plant Chernobyl. Till 1986 it was inhabited by 50000 people. Today Pripyat is a ghost city guarded by the militia. The radiation here is greatly above the allowed levels – the town is placed in the centre of the area polluted by radiation. In spite of that, the area is not deserted.
