Llosa is a Peruvian director, producer and screenwriter. She studied at the Peruvian-British Newton College in Lima and then graduated with a degree in communications from the Lima University. She is the famous writer Mario Vargas Llosa and director Luis Llosa’s niece. In the late 1990s she moved to Madrid and from 1998 to 2001 studied at the film academy
Escuela de Artes y Cine TAI. After graduation she moved to Barcelona and worked in advertising. She made her feature film debut in 2006 with the drama
Madeinusa. Then she made
The Milk of Sorrow (La teta asustada, 2009), which won the Golden Bear and the FIPRESCI Award in Berlin in 2009 and was selected as the Peruvian representative for the Oscars in the category Best Foreign Film.
