Ameli (born in Isfahan, Iran in 1953) is an Iranian director, producer and screenwriter. He spent a decade working as a journalist and afterwards made his directing debut with
Rahai 1982. His second film
Golhaye Davoudi (1985) was very popular with audiences and his film
Man, taraneh, panzdah sal daram (2002) won awards for Best Director and Screenplay at the 20th Fajr Film Festival in Teheran. Most of his films are melodramas with topics from family life. His most famous films are
