The story takes place in a small remote town in a swampy area in southern Spain in the 1980’s. After two teenage sisters disappear, two policemen from Madrid arrive to town. Pedro and Juan are completely different and are trying to adjust to being partners while investigating the case, the town and its inhabitants. The case becomes more serious than they expected in the beginning when they find out that there was an older murder of a young woman as well as that there is a chain of heroin smuggler across the swamp.

This thriller by Alberto Rodriguez won the prestigious Goya award in several categories.
