Synopsis:

Julie is happily married to an esteemed composer, Patrice, with whom she has a daughter. The happiness disappears when Patrice and the little girl die in a car accident and Julie is severely hurt. Because of her pain, Julie is obsessed with committing a suicide. Instead, she decides to break all connection with her previous life – she puts her old mother in a retirement home, destroys all of the photographs that remind her of her lost happiness, burns all of Patrice’s scores, and moves to Paris. However, she finds out that Patrice’s friend has kept a copy of his last concert… This is the first part of Krzysztof Kieslowski’s trilogy Three colors, which won many awards and nominations (among others, Juliette Binoche’s César for the best actress).
