Synopsis:
During the Chinese civil war in early 1940, Commander Gu Zidi and his troop of soldiers, members of the red Army, receive orders to hold their position and attack the Kuomintang forces until further notice. Strictly sticking to the command and rules, the commander allows his men to die and remains one of the only two survivors of the battle. He spends the rest of his life trying to restore his comrades’ honor.

Synopsis:
Gouichi Takata is an elderly Japanese man who has been living in the fishing village where he moved after his wife passed away. Kenichi is still offended that father abandoned him after his mother’s death and refuses to see him. Rie gives Gouichi a tape with a documentary that Kenichi started to make. The girl accepts the offer knowing that the spell will be undone only if impossible conditions are met.

Synopsis:
Miner Sanmig returns to the small town Fengjie, which is threatened by flooding because of the nearby building of a dam, in search of a wife who left him sixteen years ago. At the same time, nurse Shen Hong arrives to the same town in search of the husband who left their home two years ago. With her friend’s help, she starts her search.

Synopsis:
A valuable piece of jade was found in an old abandoned factory. The factory’s owner, who is under constant pressure to sell his land to an entrepreneur from Hong Kong, decides to open an exhibition of precious stones. He hires a former police officer to guard the stones, which will be a hard task since three small-time crooks, among them the factory owner’s son and a professional thief hired by the entrepreneur from Hong Kong, have a plan to steal the jade.
