Weekend of Indonesian Films
The program begins with the classical historical epic The Song of Sriwijaya whose title refers to the traditional dance from South Sumatra. Next on program is Port of Hearts directed by Lola Amaria, which is a sort-of an Indonesian version of Sex and the City. Inspired by a short horror story, director Harry Dagoe directed the film Sunya with elements of supernatural powers and black magic. Kisah 3 titik from 2013 is a story about three women with the same name but with very different paths in their lives. This short program ends with the story about a single mother and her daughter Mars from 2016, directed by Sahrul Gibran and based on Aishworo Anga’s novel.
