Synopsis:

Sedmogodišnji dječak Saša živi s majkom i sestrom u staroj moskovskoj stambenoj zgradi i svaki dan odlazi u muzičku školu gdje vježba sviranje violine. Drugi dječaci njegovih godina koji žive u istoj zgradi ne žele se igrati s njim, nego mu se izruguju i maltretiraju ga zbog njegovih glazbenih sklonosti. Jednog dana Saša upozna radnika na parnom valjku Sergeja zvanog Serjoža, koji postavlja asfalt u blizini njegove zgrade i koji ga zaštiti pred napasnim dječaci...

Ivan's Childhood

Synopsis:

During WW II twelve-year-old Ivan Bondarev finds himself on the Eastern front after his parents were killed by the Germans. He joins the Russian soldiers and becomes their scout. By combining dreams and cruel reality we follow the young scout whose personality is shaped by the brutality of war and whose life seems to move in one inevitable direction: death. With his feature debut Tarkovsky immediately attracted attention of the international audience and won the Golden Lion in Venice in 1962.

Prvi film koji je Tarkovski snimio van granica Sovjetskog Saveza i nakon čijeg je završetka prebjegao na Zapad. Centralni lik je Andrei Gorchakov, ruski spisatelj koji odlazi u Italiju kako bi istražio biografiju ruskog skladatelja iz 18. stoljeća. Andreju pomaže prevoditeljica Eugenia koja pokazuje otvoren interes za njega. On ostaje odan supruzi, no počinje osjećati bezvoljnost i nostalgiju za domom. Pažnju mu privuče lokalni čudak Domenico. Based on the life story of the Russian priest and painter of icons Andrei Rublev, the film consists of the prologue, eight episodes and the epilogue in color. Synopsis:

Through a personal story and memories of an invisible narrator, poet on his deathbed, the film portrays Russian history of the 20th century in three parallel timeframes: pre-WW I (1935), war years (1940’s) and post-war (1969). Poet’s personal memories intertwine with events that he heard of, imagined or dreamed about in combination with documentary scenes from film news or songs read and recited by the director’s father, Arseniy Tarkovsky.

Solaris

Synopsis:

This classic by Andrei Tarkovsky is the adaptation of the sci-fi novel with the same title by Stanislav Lem. Pychologist Kris Kelvin leaves Earth to go to a space station that circles around planet Solaris. His task is to analyze strange occurrences for the government and to find out why the entire crew of astronauts went mad. When he arrives to the space station, Kelvin finds his deceased wife Khari, who committed suicide…

Stalker

Synopsis:

The main character is the secret guide through a mysterious fenced off area called the Zone, which is guarded by the army. There is a Room in the Zone that has the power to grant the deepest wishes to a person who enters it. Usual laws do not apply in the Zone and dangers are invisible, but Stalker has the gift to sense any danger and find a way out. In spite of his wife’s uneasiness and objections, Stalker leads a quiet scientist and a sceptic writer who lost his inspiration into the Zone...
