Synopsis:
At the time of the Cold War, American physicist Michael Armstrong travels to Europe to attend a conference with his fiancée. To her great surprise, he goes to East Berlin and it seems he intends to defect. Nevertheless she does not give up on him and starts to follow him. However, she does not realize that Armstrong is in fact a spy on a secret mission. During his stay in East Germany all of his activities are monitored by Gromek, his “guide”. Armstrong’s plan for returning to the West is not so simple…
