Synopsis:
A documentary film devoted to Portuguese fado music that emerged at the beginning of the 19th century in poor neighborhoods of Lisbon. It consists of twenty songs and choreographies by famous musicians such as Amália Rodrigues, Mariza and Caetano Veloso. It is more of an homage to fado than it is a history.

Synopsis:
The story takes place on April 18, 1945. Even though the war is over in most of Europe, the personal war of an immigrant is still going on in Brazil. A former actor from Poland who survived the horrors of war arrives in Brazil by boat. During immigration check-in, he gets accused of being an escaped Nazi and is questioned by a customs official who once tortured people as an officer in President Vargas’ police force.

On the streets of Madrid there are anti-globalism protests on the occasion of the IMF and World Bank meeting. Seven people arrive at the Dekia corporation office. They have all applied for an executive position in the company and are about to undergo psychological testing. The company uses an unknown and mysterious “Grönholm method”, and one of the applicants is a mole from the HR department. The film won ten awards and twelve nominations at film festivals.

The Milk of Sorrow

Synopsis:
Maoist group Sendero Luminoso, which terrorized Peru in the 1980’s and early 1990’s, raped women, whose terror was then transferred to their children through breastfeeding and thus took away their souls. Young Fausta suffers from that syndrome, the so-called “milk of sorrow”. She is a timid and introverted girl who has to cope with her fears after her mother passes away. The film won 11 awards at festivals and was nominated for an Oscar.
